“In 1971, women still could not vote in Switzerland. Nora is a young housewife and mother of two who lives in a quaint little town where the news of civil rights protests, the sexual revolution and countercultural movements is hardly a topic of discussion. Nora is a quiet person who has the sympathy of all. But when her husband forbids her to accept a part-time job, frustration leads her to begin to fight publicly for women’s suffrage. Her new fame brings threats and the possible end to her marriage, but she refuses to back down, and convinces the women of the town to go on strike while she discovers aspects of her own liberation.”
