OTILIA LAIZ

DAVID MACIÁN

Author of several multi-award-winning shorts (“Total liquidation”, “Trips”, “Live from the air”, “Professor Brofman” and “The incredible Scarlet Thunder”),

David Macián made his feature film debut in 2016 with “The invisible hand”, a film adaptation of the novel by Isaac Rosa that focuses on the world of work and has its world premiere at the Seville European Film Festival. The film obtains the audience award at the REC in Tarragona and the award for the best new direction at the Toulouse Spanish Film Festival, as well as a nomination at the Feroz Awards, among other awards, and is premiered commercially in Spain and Italy in 2017.

After the making of “The invisible hand”, David returns to the world of short films with two almost consecutive works: “Zero”, based again on a text by Isaac Rosa, and the documentary “Serious and responsible girl”, which focuses on the struggle of the domestic workers.

David is currently working on the script for his next feature film which, for now, is entitled “The Law of the Sea.”

JUAN MILLARES ALONSO

JOSE M. GARCÍA DE ACILU

(Zamora, 1955). Architect and Sketcher.

Architect by the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid in 81 of the last century in the specialties of Urbanism and Building. DÉBORAH LÓPEZ

Déborah López is an architect and co-founder of Pareid; an interdisciplinary research and design studio located in London.

Her works address issues related to climate, ecology, human perception, the sensitivity of machines and their ability to alter current modes of existence through imminent fictions.

He teaches classes as a Teaching Fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) where he directs “Monumental Wastelands”, a research group focused on the thawing of permafrost in the Arctic and the use of climate fictions (Cli-Fi) as a vehicle to generate speculation .

Her project, ‘Foll (i) cle’ was presented at the Royal Academy of Arts as part of the 2020 Eco-Visionaries Symposium and will be part of the Spanish Pavilion at the 2021 Venice Biennale.

Her latest built project, ‘Pylonesque’, has received the Architizer’s 2020 A + Popular Choice Award in the Architecture and Water category.

ISABEL ALBA

Writer, screenwriter and photographer, Isabel Alba has a degree in Philosophy and Education Sciences.

Scriptwriter for radio, film and television, in recent years he has combined literary and artistic activity with teaching in the audiovisual field.

She has been a screenwriter on more than thirty television shows and series, and six documentary films. Director, in addition, of It will be feminist or it will not be, a documentary about the feminist movement in Navarra.

BELÉN SANTOS 

Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid.

She worked for ten years as a Producer at the Efe Television Agency, combining it with the production and realization of her first short films, until she decided to leave her television job to dedicate herself exclusively to writing and directing. Since then she has worked as a freelance screenwriter and filmmaker.

She has developed audiovisual and documentary projects for non-governmental organizations and other diverse organizations, as well as produced her own projects.

She has premiered her films at Festivals such as Seminci in Valladolid, Festival Des Films Du Monde in Montreal or Documenta Madrid, and has received awards in America, Europe and Asia.

She has also been part of juries in national and international festivals, and given conferences and workshops on cinema in Spain, Italy, the United States, Mozambique, Guatemala, Angola or the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

VICKY CALAVIA

MARIAN MATACHANA

Marian Matachana has a degree in Law and Psychology with a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology. She has worked as a University teacher and Counselor.

She founded the artistic representation agency “Marian Matachana”, active until 2016.

She is part of KaBoGa Art & Films, a production company that has to its credit the documentaries “Footnotes”, “Hammada”, “Expeditions” and “The night that does not end”. In 2015 she premiered the fiction feature film “Sonata for cello”, in which she is in charge of international production and distribution. In 2019, “Barcelona 1714”, a film of which she is the executive producer, will be released. “Sinjar”, ​​her next film production, participated in L’Atelier Cinéfondation at the 2019 Cannes festival.

He is currently in the pre-production phase of the TV series “Morir de pie”, about the life of La Pasionaria, a project selected in the Pitch Copro Series at Conecta Fiction 2019. With La Vinadella, he has produced the short films of the director and screenwriter Edu Moyano “La primera noche” and “Cretinos”, with more than 30 awards at international festivals, including the Best Foreign Short Film Award at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival.

She is a member of the Spanish Film Academy and also of the EFA (European Film Academy).

BEATRIZ ALONSO ARANZÁBAL (Madrid, 1963)

Beatriz Alonso Aranzábal (Madrid, 1963) is a psychologist, writer and filmmaker.

Her first documentary short film “Voy para contento” (2006) was selected at various festivals, received the Best Documentary Short Award at the VI Ponferrada Film Festival, a Special Mention from the Jury of the X Festival La Fila de Valladolid and was broadcast by. TVE La 2 and Canal Extremadura, as well as her latest short film “Papiroflexia” (2009).

He has also directed “Planes do not salute” (2007). In 2015 she made the documentary feature film “From a free time to this part”, about the origins of the Madrid Movida, which has been screened in Madrid, London, Oviedo, Elche, Beijing, etc.

She is the author of the book “Life is a very short word” (Nazarí, 2014).

She currently directs two care teams for people with mental illness in the Community of Madrid.

IVÁN SAÍNZ-PARDO (Madrid, 1972)

Iván Sáinz-Pardo (Madrid, 1972) has a degree in film and television directing from the prestigious Munich Film School (HFF MÜNCHEN)

He is one of the most awarded Spanish short filmmakers in history. With more than 500 awards at film festivals around the world, it has managed to garner international attention and recognition from the public and critics.

It has a pre-nomination for the Oscar, a nomination for the Goya Awards, a nomination for the Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis and the award for the best European short at the International Fantastic Film Festival in Brussels.

He has directed the second unit in the Mediapro Studios Series “The Head” and is currently preparing his first feature film in Germany where he works as a director and screenwriter in film and advertising.

He was a producer, director and screenwriter for the short film UN FILS, which has won 15 awards and selected in more than fifty international film festivals.

RUN OUT has won 2 awards and selected in more than forty film festivals.

SWAP, its pilot for the television series, won 29 awards and selected in more than sixty film festivals.

He directed 56 web clips and music videos for the TV Series “BIG TOP ACADEMY”.

CHUSA BARBERO

Graduated in Dramatic Art, actress, director and theater teacher.

Since her theatrical debut at the age of twenty, she has participated in multiple theatrical, film or television productions. She always wanted to dedicate herself to the theater and this led her to film and television.

He likes the work processes until he gets to premiere a theatrical piece. The intensity of the last moments before the premiere. The certainty of having done a job backed by the time of rehearsals.

Miguel Narros, Ángeles González-Sinde, Mariano Barroso, Álex de la Iglesia, Jaime Chávarri and Pilar Miró are some of the directors with whom he has been fortunate to work. She was nominated for a Goya for the film Besos para todos by Jaime Chávarri and received the Award for Best Female Performance at the Ponferrada Film Festival for the film Catarsis by Ángel Fernández Santos.

SERGI GONZÁLEZ 

Since 2005, he has headed the audiovisual production company Dionisia Films, S.L., with which he has directed a total of 16 short films, both fiction and documentary.

She has directed, since 2013, the Cortometrando Festival of the Castellón Provincial Council.

Since 2016 she has directed the Galapán Film Festival, the Santiago-Pontones International Short Film Festival (Jaén), a festival recently recognized with the Quality Certificate granted by the Short Film Industry Association.

And since 2019 she has directed the ALMA, Almassora International Short Film Festival (Castellón).

She makes a weekly film program at Onda Cero Castellón and has been working for more than 10 years in different educational campaigns in collaboration with Multicines Sucre Vila-real. In the same way, she gives audiovisual workshops in various schools in her city and coordinates the projections of the Summer Cinema.

With It will be our secret, her latest fiction short film, shot in 2018, is about to reach 80 national and international selections and already has a total of 21 awards.

MARINO GARCÍA

Editor, producer and teacher in cinematography.

He worked as a technical specialist in audiovisuals at the Film and Video Workshop of the Municipal Foundation of Culture of Valladolid until 1999, when he founded the artistic collective think hands and is the owner of the film production company of the same name until today.

He was Academic Deputy Director of the Technical School of Cinematography and Visual Arts of the University of León, where he coordinated practices and the Editing area between 2001 and 2004. Between 2008 and 2015 he collaborated as a professor at the “Visual Culture and Analysis Workshop” and other activities of the MUSAC (Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León). Between 2008 and 2013, he taught Young Art Courses (Cinema Specialty) at the Castilla y León Youth Institute. He teaches master’s courses for Tracor, the Arts Institute in Madrid.

EDUARDO CARDOSO

Director, film teacher, activist and popularizer of the world of short films.

Nominated twice for the Goya awards as director and producer of the short films El Umbrella de Colores (2014) and En un lugar del cine (2010).

Other outstanding works are Teatreros (2005) with the participation of Blanca Portillo, Juan Luis Galiardo and Isabel Ordaz, among others, and Urban Fauna (2004), which, co-directed with Ana Fajardo, was awarded at Documentamadrid.

As a teacher, he has taught and coordinated workshops at the TAI school, the Madrid Film Institute, at various universities, film festivals, foundations and for educational programs in the Community of Madrid.

Since 2004 he has been teaching workshops for children and young people at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, as well as extracurricular audiovisual activities in schools and institutes.

In 2015, he joined the coordination team of the AulaCorto project, the educational platform of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

FRAN FERNÁNDEZ-ASENSIO

Fran Fernández-Asensio was born in León. He is studying Art History at the University of León and Dramatic Art. He continues his training as an actor and stage director with renowned international professionals from the world of acting, such as Corazza, Vassiliev, Fava or Peter Brook; Thus developing a professional career in the performing arts, being part of the cast of different companies such as 3enRe, Didascalia, Fabularia or the National Dramatic Center, among others.

In the world of television, he participates in series such as Aída, Los Hombres de Paco or Here there is no one who lives; and in the cinema in the feature films Rebelde and A galope tenido.

As a stage director, he directs shows like Talk to me like the rain… and let me listen, El triciclo, Las Brujas de Salem, etc.

Since 2015 he has been coordinator of the International Film Festival of Palencia.
